Waiver and Release

I know that I am running a road race and that there can be potential
hazards while doing so. I understand that because of this, I should not
enter the race unless I am medically able and properly trained. I
assume all risks associated with running this event. Myself, my heirs,
administrators, executors, personal representatives, successors, and
assigns, waive and release all rights, claims, and course of action I have
or may have against the events, its sponsors, employees, officers,
representatives, and any/all affiliates. If a parent/guardian with a child
in the race, I understand that I am responsible for the safety and any
rules given for any youth under my supervision. I verify that all the
information provided is accurate to the best of my knowledge in
regards to emergency contacts and medical readiness. I also verify that
I have sufficiently trained for this event. I hereby grant full permission
to any and all photos, recordings, or any other record for this event for
any legitimate purpose.

Training

The 5K Turkey Trot is a fun run, however, if running competitively we want to make sure that each individual is properly trained. Be sure to run or walk for at least 20-30 minutes three times a week. If you are a beginner, you do not have to focus on your speed, focus on pacing yourself and finding your rhythm. For additional information view the added links.

Hydration

Hawaii is a nice, tropical location, but be sure that you still hydrate when preparing for a run. Approximately a gallon a day should keep you well hydrated for the run. Hydrating days before a run is best as well to prevent cramps and the possibility of dehydrating.
